STD or Not STD?

hi i have a few follow-up questions if someone doesn't mind to answer.

Is molluscom a STD or can it be from something else?

If someone has molluscom, and is sexually active, would it necessarily spread to the uninfected person?

i have made an appointment to see my doctor about one itchy bump i have had on my labia majora for almost 2 years - it hasn't spread anywhere on my own body, and i don't think spread to my partner. I have only had one sexual partner, BUT the appointment isn't for another month! Too long.

Hi there -

Molluscum is an std, but there are other ways to get it - at the gym, sharing towels, etc.

For the best std info, check out www.ashastd.org

And call your doc and tell them you are having std symptoms, and need to be seen sooner.  They should get you in.

it's so difficult to read std info on the internet - sometimes they are very conflicted.

i read somewhere that genital warts are itchy but my doc says they're not itchy

i read somewhere that molluscum is itchy, and another site that says not itchy
