STD or yeast infection

Hi I'm a 26 year old male. Recently I had sex with the condom breaking, before this occurrence I had long term partner and were both tested. Before the breaking of the condom and non-protected contact I was diagnosed with thrush and given cream to treat it. After the initial incident (about 1.5-2 weeks) I went to the doctor and had a urine and swab test both returning negative results (in other words no herpes or anything.) I do not have any sores, swelling and it does not hurt at all when I urinate, but in the last two days I have noticed a very small amount of discharge (probably half the size of a grain of rice) is it at all possible I have contracted something such as herpes? I thank you for your time and look forward to your response.

Dear auntiejessi,

I went to the doctor and he had a look at the discharge which was clear and proceeded to give me another urine test and this time blood-test. He said he had for many years worked in an STD centre and seeing he had already swab/urine tested me told me that he and I would certainly know if there was something seriously wrong. I am now awaiting blood test results but my anxiety has reduced considerably. I'd like to thank you and this forum for providing support to others during times of personal stress. All the best

Your results at that time were fine.  Chlamydia will show up within a week.

It could be that the thrush is returning.

Good luck with the doc.

Sorry to hassle you again, I have made a doctors appointment for tomorrow, but am still a slightly bit anxious. If I had a swab/urine test 1.5-2 weeks after the initial unprotected sexual contact which returned negative for herpes/Chlamidya etc is it possible that these tests were taken to early. Also though I have a slight bit of discharge from the penis (no pain what so ever) could it be that it is the thrush/fungal problem returning? Thanks once again it's really appreciated.

Dear auntijessi,

The discharge is clear and there is no burning or pain. I also don't have any other of the symptoms associated with STD's. I thank you very much for help and advice. It's also good to know that the chance of getting herpes from a female with abscence of symptoms is low. Cheers once again.

If the discharge is clear, I wouldn't worry unless its accompanied by burning or pain.

Your chances of getting herpes from a female in the absence of symptoms is quite low, and nothing I would worry about unless you get symptoms.

Dear auntijessi,

Thanks for your reply, my long term partner and I broke up a couple of months ago and the girl I had sex with was someone I had recently met through friends. I had the urine and swab-tests about 1.5-2 weeks after the condom breaking. The doctor said that I didn't have herpes or gonorreah or clamidya. I was relieved to hear these results from the doctor but about 3-4 days ago I noticed a small amount of discharge, am I just being paranoid? is it normal even if there is no STD for a small amount of discharge to come from the penis? Thanks once again.

So I'm a bit confused - was this encounter with your long term partner or someone else?

In any case, this doesn't sound like herpes.  How long after the encounter did you do the urine and swab tests?
