Can Gonorrheal sepsis or DGI occur after 2 years of infection?

Dr.HHH says that Gonorrhea even if untreated, clears up on its own, some cases take more than a year but that is rare.
Dr.Hook on the other side states that the infection can last for a long time and that he saw a case in which it persisted without symptoms for 3 years.
My Q is,can Sepsis or gonococcocemia occur after 2 years of an untreated infection?
Your answers are greatly appreciated.

By the way,I have HSV2 myself, and agree with you,the stigma that surrounds that is unbelievable! It is one virus that lives with humans in great co-existence :)

Wish you all the best

I think biology class is down the hall and to the left  :)

we will never have answers as to when and how - diseases develop all the time and there is always a difference between how they affect one person to another. We compile evidence of infection and come up with symptoms , guidelines for diagnosis and treatment based on what occurs for the majority and works on the majority.

get tested to know your status so you can stop worrying :)  if you need help with test results we will gladly help you but otherwise honestly we don't have a lot of time to devote to "wondering"  - thanks for your understanding with this :)

Thank you,Vance for your answers.
Thing is,Gonorrhea, they say,can be transmitted only through sex,so it`s not like airborne bacteria such as the flu or cold,so how the heck did the first unfortunate case contract it? It`s pretty weird.
We might know some day.
Yes,the explanation for the medical observations is very reasonable, and as for the people who have been infected and cleared it out, maybe it was based on the history of exposure.
Why do our reactions to infections vary? Why do some people get the germ, get so sick and die, while others have only diarrhea or maybe nothing at all? Could the only factor here,is the strength of one`s immunity?always the host and not the germ?
Another floating question :)

Your last post is a question unable to be answered, you would have to go back 1000+ years to find the first case, but it is like any other bacteria, cold, flu..etc.

Your other post about how...just like eveything else in the medical world studies have been done and the nature of the STD is bacterial so it is just common that our bodies would tend to fight off bactera no matter where it is. And for the condition to stay within the body and grow worse it is basically from people who did not test, did not know they were infected and then finally tests were done when the person was in a hospital or Dr's office and gonorrhea is found.

I also wonder,if human beings are the only natural hosts of Gonorrhea, and if Gono is contracted only from a case of Gono, how did the first case show up??

Thank you Vance :)
I wonder how did the medical institution come up with these conclusions,I mean,if it is unethical to follow and observe infected people without treating them, how do they know whether infections clear up or linger or become permanent or any of these questions.
Just a thought,do you have any ideas?

Gonorrhea most likely owuld clear if not treated but if not then you would get some serious symptoms well before now.

No you really have nothing to worry about in terms of gonorrhea from 19 months ago.

Yes.I have had unprotected sexual encounters in the past, last one was 19 months ago,I never tested for Gonorrhea or Chlamydia. And now,I realize the stupidity of my choices.I`m not scared or anything, but  don`t want to hurt anyone in this process with me,whether a partner or a child,my finances will allow me to get tested this Feb.,so I can put it out of my head.
I read that Gonococcemia occurs-usually-within days to 2 weeks following the primary infection, and on Wiki the statement was:"Gonorrhea,if left untreated, can last foe weeks or months with higher risk of complications".
And then I read about one case of Sepsis happening after a year from "adequately treated gono!",guess that was the time of penicillin.
Anyways,I would like to understand, does Gono always clears away on itself? Now,at this moment in time, should I be worried about Gono complications, sepsis or septic shock or any of those horrors,or is the worst over?
Thank you,Grace

Thank you,Grace for this good info.
Do you know if Gonorrhea clears up in all people without exception or are there cases with persistent Gono for quite a long time?

Thanks a lot,and Happy New Year,everybody!

no it's not going to be a systemic issue 2 years later. more likely an infertility issue at that point than anything.
