I recently had oral sex with a woman, and then we had protected intercourse.  I have read other sites about the symptoms of STDs and I had a question about where sores from syphilis will occur.  Since I had oral sex, on her, is it possible that I could get a sore on my leg or will the sores (if there are to be any!)?  An unexplained sore appeared on my leg and my experience with this woman has me a little freaked out.

While syphilis is found a lot in men who have sex with men, its not ONLY found in men who have sex with men.

You should see your doctor when you get new symptoms.

sores generally happen at the area of contact and syphillis can only be transmitted when a chancre is present on your partner.  If you were in the US and this was hetero sex your chances are so slim almost not even quantifiable. The disease is almost completely limited to homo-sexuals and in addition to that contracting it from oral sex is very rare.  If you remain concerned about the sore see a dermatologist  I am sure it is not a chancre.  they are painless and look pretty much uniform meaning if you see a picture on the web somewhere thats what it will basically look like on you.  There are some counties and cities in US there are no reported cases of syphilis at all this year so the odds overwhelmingly in your favor.  Good luck, I wish you all the best.
