Syphilis chancre, can it appear in less than 10 days?

Hi all,

So I have just noticed a red and round painless bump on the side of my buttocks a few days ago, I left it alone but when I had a look at it today it was all red and pink.

It made me panic quite a bit, so I got on a consultation with a GP and sent him the photo, but just by looking at the photo the GP couldn't tell if it is a chancre or not, because the place is quite unusual as it was not near my anus/gentials.

My last exposure was only 8 days, so my question is can this be a chancre? I understand the incubation period of spyhilis would take 10 days to 2 weeks, but is there any chance that a chancre would appear before that time limit? like in 6-8 days?

Thanks very much in advance.

There’s no exact timing from when they appear it’s all bases on statistics. The only way to know is to get tested. But based on your exposure I really doubt it’s syphilis. I think you should get all the test done to put your mind at ease
