Grace would you care to comment on this by chance?
Sounds good. By the time I test It will have either been 42 or 43 days post exposure. So I will be glad to be able to have conclusive results HIV and Syphilis. Unfortunately, the one I am worried the most about is Herpes. In your experience, if I haven't had ANY symptoms of herpes, would a test at 42 or 43 days along with the absence of any symptoms allow me to "breathe easy" with respect to HSV?
The test I took for HSV at 18 days came back 0.08 HSV1 and 0.27 HSV2. With those being so low, and me still experiencing zero symptoms, would a positive test at 42 or 43 days out allow me to like stated above, "breathe easy"?
4+ weeks indeed is conclusive for the HIV DUO test. For the others, my understanding is about half way between your personal doc and your doctor friend: 6 weeks for syphilis and 12-16 weeks for HSV. Your friend's explanation for your doctor's advice (CYA) may be right.
