Treated for gonorrhea. Is my paranoia warranted?

I was diagnosed with pharyngeal gonorrhea and was treated on Wednesday with a ceftriaxone injection and four azithromycin pills. The counselor told me that the antibiotics should kill off the bacteria within two days, but I have to remain sex-free for 7 days. This is the 5th day.

I don't have a sore throat right now, but my throat feels really warm. My friend, who's also a counselor, has had Gonorrhea about 5 times. He went over the basics of the treatment, and kind of calmed me down throughout the whole ordeal. Am I being paranoid that the antibiotics didn't kill off the bacteria? I can't sleep :(

On the bright side, my NAT HIV and Syphilis test were conclusively negative! But now I am hoping that the antibiotics eradicated the infection.

Profile says you are in CA, if so no need to worry about a resistant strain.

The clinic used the swab test. Not sure if they use the NAAT test or the culture. If the medication did not work, will the next batch work?

Also, how long should I wait to get retested?
