Very concerned, and worried

Ok here it goes.  3 months ago I slept with a woman, and her "cleanliness" is unclear, I was tested a week afterwords, negative of course, and was tested a week ago, pending results.  But now I have come down with a possible cold (which is why I went to get tested) my tonsils are inflamed, sore throat, tongue feels sore, and nausea.  I haven't had a fever, but I am worried that it may be symptoms.  Also my girlfriend has the same symptoms, she also has a tiny white lump on her tonsil, which I do not.  But the fact my throat has been sore for over 2 weeks now has me overly worried.  Could this be HIV?  If the test is Negative should I get tested again at the 6 month mark?  I was tested 11 1/2 weeks after the incident.
