When should I get checked after encounter with syphilis infected person?
Hi,
I had few encounters with someone that was found to be infected with syphilis. The last two were during his body rush stage (with 10 days interval) and included protected anal and unprotected oral sex. Most probably I had another 1-2 encounters during earlier stages of his infection
What's the chances that I was infected and when I should be tested and what kind of tests?

Hi to contract syphilis you would need direct rubbing contact with an active syhpilis chancre so you can test for it with a blood test at the 6 week mark.

Why, doctors suggest to wait until 12th week post exposure to perform the test ?
