Wife's first smear test

My wife will be having her first smear test in 2 days time , I was diagnosed with genital warts about 2 years ago but haven't had a visible wart in about a year , I'm now having sleepless nights sat on google reading horror stories worrying I could be responsible for her having a abnormal pap or even worse cervical cancer , not really a question just more after some advice from people in the same shoes as me , Thank you all in advance

do you have hsv1 or hsv2? if it's hsv2, are you on daily suppressive therapy to reduce the risk of transmission to her?

did she have her gardasil shot series before you got married?

Yes indeed we did I was a sufferer of herpes and hpv , that's in my past and can't change that all I can hope for is a better future :-)

the types of hpv that cause genital warts, don't cause cervical hpv infections.  granted either of you could've had a high risk type of hpv prior to meeting and never knew it but that's why we recommend getting regular pap tests to look for changes in cervical cells.
