cephalexin 500mg

Ok I guy I had had sex with about a month ago, called me and said he went to the doctor was treated for a STD. He said that the doctor tested him for everything and gave him a shot and he had to take two pills and that was it, but he never told me what he had. I ask what were his symptoms and he said burning when using the bathroom and discharge. My things is he claims he has been with anyone but me. Before i was with I was in a relationship and one other person besides him. This was maybe like 4-5 months before I was sexual with him. When I called and asked my past two mates they said they were fine and had no symptoms of anything. As for me I have no symptoms either. After he told me I have been watching my self closely and I have some cephalexin 500mg that the doctor gave me for an urine tract infection about 9-10 months ago and I have 2 refills, should I get them refilled and start treating myself until I can get to the doctor. I've called and they don't have anything available till the end of this month. I've been to the free clinic three times and they are so crowded I can never get seen. I still made an appointment for the end of this month with my primary care doctor. Is it a good idea to start the cephalexin till then and can I use creams for vaginal infections like Monistad?

It can be used for syphilis, gonorrhea, and for  chlamydia. The latter of the two usually are both present at once. In my research, I've found that doctors prescribed this if they see HIV/AIDS as well.

your partner not knowing what is going on is irresponsible!

at this point you need to go and be seen this week and get a full std screening done. Let them know your partner was diagnosed with most likely either chlamydia and/or gonorrhea as well as cover the other std testing bases too.

you absolutely should not take the antibiotics you mentioned. they aren't effective for most std's and might mask you getting accurate answers in the future if you take them now.

do not use any monistat either!  You have no reason to treat for a yeast infection either.

do not have any sex with your partner again until you've had testing and if you need treatment, a full week post treatment has passed.
