Post Clamydia Azithromycin 1G treatment Symptoms (10th day) Should I be worried?

Hello,

I was diagnosed with chlamydia 17 days ago as my ex-partner informed me that she had tested positive for the STI. As a result, I booked an appointment and was prescribed a single dose of Azithromycin.

Prior to being told about the STI, my symptoms were a burning sensation during urination. I first went to the doctor thinking I had a UTI, after describing my symptoms the doctor prescribed me a course of Nitrofurantoin. However, once I was told it was clamydia I went back to the doctor who told me to stop taking the antibiotics (Mid way through the course) and take the single dose of azithromycin. I was told not to have any sexual intercourse for 7 days. My treatment finished 10 days ago.

During the 7 days I began to feel testicle pain but less pain during urination. After the 7 days were up my partner and I had unprotected sex on the 8th day. However, the next day I had small white discharge when I squeezed my urethra in the morning. I was informed that this was my body clearing the infection up and the bacteria would not have been active. My testicle pain stopped about 2 or 3 days ago but for the last 2/3 days I have felt that my frequent urination and burning during urination has returned! It has made me extremely anxious! I have been told it is normal for symptoms to persist for up to 2 weeks but I am quite worried because this symptom went away and now it seems it has returned?

My questions are:

1) Could my initial course of antibiotics, that I did not finish, interfere with azithromycin?
2) Although my symptoms are more mild, is it likely that the course of antibiotics has failed?
3) I plan to get re-tested in 2 weeks but I was wondering what the likelihood is of me infecting my partner? My partner 100% does not have any infection.

Id appreciate any help, and I find this forum very helpful with reading! Just thought Id make my own post and see if I could possibly get a more specific answer tailored to my situation. Thank you.

Sorry I forgot to add that the white discharge stopped and I did not notice it after that day. I only noticed some clear discharge when I squeezed the urethra. However, I stopped squeezing the urethra to check for this because I know it can cause further irritation.

Thank you!
