do i have a STD?

hi, i've been having urethritis symptoms since feb 2010. i had sex with a female which im not familiar of, i was protected except when she performed oral sex. the next day when i woke up i had a tingling feeling in my penis, very uncomfortable and slightly itchy in the urethra but i thought i was just being paranoid since this happened to me before and it ended up being nothing so i gave it a week and i still had these symptoms which caught my attention. i went to a clinic and the doctor asked me if i have any discharge and i said no and i told him every detail of my story and he said it might be gonorrhea but he said unlikely since i have no discharge and prescribed me with ofloxacin for UTI, 7 days twice a day orally. after taking my medication for 3 days i felt a lot better and thought i was cured but after finishing my medication, maybe after 3 days the symptoms returned. now i was wondering i was not taking the medication properly since i never followed the every 12 hrs rule and took each pills every afternoon and right after i go to bed, i wasnt following any exact time schedules. i think i took it every 7 hrs or so.

i thought well i took the medication anyway, let it give some time and after a month passed by and i still had slight discomfort and urge to urinate more then usual. so i went back to the clinic with a different doctor, it was probably somewhere in april. she examined my penis and said there was nothing wrong, just a little swollen in the meatus area she said. she asked me if she can give me a injection shot and i said i would prefer a pill to take orally. she told me to take cipro and azithromycin for a follow up medication and a possible NGU. she also took my urine to check for puss but it wasnt a STD urine test since they didn't have it there. she said i had no puss but had a lot of calcium oxalate and told me to drink a lot of water to flush it out.

i took the azithromycin that night but not the cipro since i though i didnt need it after doing some research and the fact the i already took ofloxacin and that i had no discharge, i decided not to take it. the azithromycin didnt work at all and i thought of just leaving it alone and to drink a lot of water. after a month, this time on may 2010 i decided to take the cipro, 7 days twice a day. it didnt work either and here i am now wondering what i really have? i started to think i have herpes since my urethra seems to be a little swollen, i have frequent urination and little burning, just uncomfortable and it has been ruining my life. i have no sores at all but i am almost sure that i have urethritis and i do not know what is causing it. if i do not have gonorrea, chlamydia or herpes then what do i have? please help, ty

yes thank you for your respond, it's very comforting. from all the antibiotics i finished and took, i find ofloxacin the most effective. is it safe to take ofloxacin again for 7 days, twice a day? or will the bacteria i have get immuned to it? im planning to go to the doc tomorrow and probably ask for a injection this time and std check up if they can.

Always always always compelete all medications (especially antibiotics), by not taking the medication as instructed and to completion you don't kill the bacterial off even when you start to feel better, so it comes back as a new strain and stronger than before.

STDs that can be transmitted from oral sex are hepes, gonorrea, and NGU (non-specific NGU).   Now arising most common NGU is one caused by oral sex (http://www.region8ipp.com/Docs/Articles/35538.pdf).

"what do i have?"  Sounds like NGU of some kind, but you already knew this because NGU is simply another way of saying UTI or inflamation of the urethra.   Continue to work with your doctor about this matter.
