help

my friend came to me 2 days ago and told me to look in his mouth on the uvula i saw 2 white spots that looked like open soars or a canker soar. the back of his throat looked normal it was only the uvula that was red and had 2 white circular spots and he said it was very painful. i told him to go to the doctor. he went the next day and said the doc said it was strep throat or tonsillitis. i spoke to the doc myself and he didnt even give my friend any type of test. i think it is a viral infection or some sought of std he doesnt want to listen to me because of what the doc told him. i really am araid for him because he has multiple sex partners. what can this be?

There really isn't a need to scare him into getting tested for std's when the occurrence of std's is not likely.  Strep throat is highly contagious and is much much more likely to happen.  Std testing is costly.  So, if there is not a real reason to believe this is an std, then it isn't necessary.  Also, we do not know if sex was involved.

It's possible to get some stds in your mouth but rare...I mean it does sound like strep to me. I had strep once and it sounded the same.  I would just tell your friend to get tested for every std and get a strep culture ASAP.

It can be many things and probably not a STD. He can seek a new Dr or follow up and request some tests.
