Sore Throat, worried I have STDs or putting family at risk.

I have made some stupid decisions lately, and I am worried I may have contracted an STD.  I have lesions on my throat and some red bumps on my tonsil.

When I had no symptoms I shared a drink with my father.  Even though I was feeling fine is there anyway I could give him something?  Can dried vaginal fluids be a risk?  I've also noticed a bump on my head that could be HPV?  If I touch this and then shake someones hand are they at risk?  If somebody hugs me and touches these bumps could they get infected?

I am embarrassed to ask these questions but I must know the answer...  I performed cunnilingus on a girl that I'm pretty sure has been with a lot of guys.  Could this just be a yeast infection in my throat?  Does that spread easy without direct contact?  How easily could my throat infection spread? I am never having sex again, this has been eating away at me and I can't focus on anything.  I hope I am just worrying about nothing.

I don't want to put my family at risk for the stupid decisions I've made.  Please help me.

you are obsessing a bit about this don't you think? really, not everything is a std and odds are this is a viral upper respiratory infection more so than a std.

nothing really else we can help you with. follow up monday with your provider for a proper exam.

Its been a week and a half that I've had these symptoms :(  will blood test show oral stds?

I tested negative for hiv but that was only 23 days after.  Still waiting for the rest of the results...

I still have sores on my throat and bumps on my tonsil.  My right ear has been ringing constantly...

Could this be an STD?  I noticed my throat begining to hurt 2 weeks after performing cunnilingus.

Sorry I got one more question :/  if there was even a microscopic crack in the lips, mouth, or tongue does this increase the risk of getting an oral std or is the risk the same?   2 weeks after going down on someone I have tonsilitis and throat sores so I am very worried :(

I am going to practice abstinence from now on..

Thanks for the responses.  I really appreciate it :). I tested negative for HIV today so that is good, but I am still wondering...  Even if someone has a crack in their lip and performs cunnilingus, is this still low risk?

This is my last question :). I will just get tested again in a few months just to be absolutely sure.  I believe ther are cures for everything regardless of what big pharma and mainstream medicine says, but I'd rathEr not have anything to begin with.

I'm about 90% sure I have HPV but I'm not so worried about that, should I be?

That sounds like a nasty bacterial infection to me.  Go see your doc and they'll let you know.  Not sure where you live, but we have a lot of Strep throat, flu virus, and common colds going around here.  People are super sick in our area.  Keep well!

I have had symptoms for the past week though so I am worried.  I have a couple red bumps on my right tonsil and white dots on the back of my throat.  Its not painful but is concerning me.

I think I may have candida, HPV, and/or syphilis.  I hope I don't have HIV or HSV-2 :(  I am getting tested today and hope its nothing serious :/

Can colloidal silver really work the wonders people say it does?

you are very unlikely to have contracted a std from performing oral. it's not worth any testing or any worry.

we call them sexually transmitted infections for a reason - it takes that sort of naked, intimate contact to contract them. not the sort of contact you have routinely with friends and family.

Thanks for the response.  So if I do have HPV or some STD/STI I am not putting my family at risk?

Can you get anything from dried fluids? Or is this unlikely as well?

this was not a risk for transmitting a std to your father. not many folks have oral std's and those who do, they are poorly transmitted through oral to oral contact.

you are more likely to catch a run of the mill sore throat type virus or even strep throat from either kissing others romantically or even just being within 3 feet of them.  performing oral sex on someone is very low risk for an oral std.

see your provider for a proper exam and testing.
