I was diagnosed with ngu took the medicine and mygirgirlfriend took the meds also. We waited over a week like the Dr said to have sex. Well again the pain and discharge are back so I went to see the Dr again. He gave me a shot and more meds for me and my girlfriend. We have been using protection condoms after that and waited 10 days before having sex. Now the pain and discharge is back again. She went to the clinic and came up negative for ngu but came up positive for bacterial vaginosis. She and I started to take metronidazole today that's what the clinic gave her. Also I tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea. We are waiting for her results back.
Any ideas of what I have? NGU or is this something else. My girlfriend came up negative for NGU and has bacterial vaginosis. I am really confused took the metronidazole yesterday hoping. Thanks any info will help
ngu can be caused by std's but typically it's caused by non-std related bacteria. it's not something you pass back and forth. your gf not having any urinary symptoms wouldn't show any signs of infection either.
bv also isn't transmitted to males either. we don't even recommend treating the male partner.
at this point you need your prostate checked to see if it's enlarged.
