oral sex--worried

I am 31,never had unprotected sex, actually only ever been with 2 girls. The other day I drank to a point that I was not acting right.  I went home with a 23 yr old girl and she gave me oral sex that was unprotected.  I also had a hicky on my penis.  I do not remember any blood, but I was drunk. We also heavy kissed and I fingered her.  Somehow I would not have sex though with her because of no condoms.  Its been 4 days, there are no other signs of anything besides the hicky. How long should I wait for an HIV test and from what the Nationa Aids Hotline told me they thought there was a avg chance I could be infected with HIV. Not sure if the girl was or not.

I would wait three months and then if that is negative go back in another three months to be extra sure.  But you should know that it is very hard to spread HIV through oral sex. In fact there have been a lot of studies on it and they did so many tests where they were unable to find transmission of HIV through just oral.  Even if there is a break in the skin or blood is involved, I read somewhere that it has to be a decent amount of blood and big enough wound for the infection to get into the blood stream, and that is only if it is still active after hitting the air and etc.  HIV is a weak virus that needs perfect conditions to enter the body and blood stream.

A hotline has to tell you there is risk because of legal purposes, and I'm not saying it isn't possible, but it has been shown to be less of a risk then sex without a condom, obviously....somewhere on here you can find articles about the studies they did.  They have never had a case of HIV being transmitted through oral sex.  Think of how much bigger the number infected would be.

BUT...it's always good to be sure, and get tested for peace of mind.
