Hi, I am a 28 year old male experiencing discharge from my penis. Immediately following oral sex several months ago, I experienced extreme pain urinating one time only. Since then, I've had a barely noticeable slight pain/itch at the tip of my penis. I thought it was nothing, but went to a health clinic for testing approximately two weeks ago. There, I tested negative for gonorrhea, syphillis, and chlamydia. Neither of the two partners I have had unprotected sex with during the past few months are experiencing any symptoms.
However, the day following a sexual encounter with one of the same partners, I woke up to find a green, mucus-like discharge from the tip of my penis. This was not painful other than a very slight stinging/itch. I went to an urgent care facility that afternoon and they visually (and confidently) diagnosed me with gonorrhea, gave me a shot of Rosephin (sp?) and a 10-day prescription for Doxycycline.
Subsequely (three days later) the test results from the urgent care facility have come back negative for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and the discharge has persisted. However, it has changed colors from green/yellowish to white in the morning and clear by the afternoon.
Does this mean the antibiotics prescribed for gonorrhea are working anyway? How quickly should I begin to see results?
Finally, in case the antibiotics prescribed don't work, what other types of infections can cause white colored discharge that is typically clear throughout the day, and what are the treatment options? Thank you in advance for your help.
