reddish bump

I have a reddish spot that is slightly raised on the outside of my vagina, it vaguely resembles a mole.  I am absolutely terrified as to what it could be.   I have lost so much sleep due to this and have myself convinced that it is something terrible. Please someone help me. Any insight as to what it could be????

Good, I'm glad you are going to go, and taking a friend as reinforcement is never a bad idea.  :)

Let us know.

My appointment is for next week and one of my friends is going to make sure that I tell the doctor what is really bothering me. This spot has been there since February, well that was when I first noticed it.

Thank you for your advice and assurance.

I'm glad you are going to go - it could be anything from irritation, to molluscum, to an allergy, etc.

There's no reason to worry so much - whatever it is, I'm sure you will be fine.

Yes, I got a pap smear and everything came back normal. I know I should have pointed it out to them just to put my mind at rest but I was just too afraid that it is something terrible.   I am making an appointment to go back to my gyno and to have them check it out. My anxiety is very bad and I am already on medication for that. Thank you for all of your help. I really appreciate it.

No I think in a general checkup they would have seen something if they thought it were irregular.  Did you get a pap smear in your exam?  I think more importantly then did they notice is if i bothers you, hurts or scares you, causes anxiety etc.  go back poitn it out specifically you will feel better to know it is nothign or get treated correctly if necessary.  I am sure you are fine.  Good luck.

I was just at the gyno about a month ago and it bothered me then but I was too afraid to point it out to them.  But, I feel that they were down there and would have seen it, am I wrong in assuming that?

I think you ought to go see your gyno for reassurance no one can diagnose what you are describing over the web.  It might in fact be a mole if it has you concerned the doctors office is where you belong, they have seen it all there is no shame in showing them and they will know for sure what it is and be able to help.  It could be so many things and nothing at all.  Do not stress out surely a solution is a doctors visit away.  Good luck.
