syphilis

hey guys i took a VDRL test 3 weeks after my exposure the result was negative am i still at risk should i re do the test or is it concusive......thank you

he is wrong for conclusive results of Syphilis it is 6-8 weeks post encounter. and 3 months for HIV. Most doctor do stick with 6 months thought.

yaaaaay hiv at 8.5 weeks NEGATIVE and the doctor said i canbe sure.... thaks to all....

ok guys i am going tomorow to the public clinic to get a test hiv and syphilis... its now 8,5 weeks so as far as i understand is egnouh for all stds... since the guidelines in my country say 2 months is the window period....

Oral sex is NOT a risk for HIV period.

...window period for HIV is three months. Receiving oral is very low risk for HIV.

The window period for VDRL is 6-8 weeks. There are other syphilis tests that will become positive earliner on.

Why not go to a public STI doctor and discuss the problems?

my doctor said i should not do an other but he was not an std doctor she was a doctor in a private clinic,,,, i am have some douts that she knows her stuff because she said to me that for hiv i sould wait 6 months and its not concusive befor 6 months and i was like wtf she doesnt know ****....a received oral from a male....i dont know i have some thoughts about that cause i was drunk but,,,, and i think about it a bit more.....

...this is probably to early to give a definitive answer. Wait until 6-8 weeks. Have you discussed this with your doctor? And- do you have strong reasons to believe that you were really exposed?
