syphilis

About 3 weeks ago had a sexual encounter and it involved oral and sex that was not protected.  I have this mark on my lip that is a little red.  It's above my lip a little and there is a little indentation... Doesn't look like a pimple and there isn't any pus or liquid coming from it .  It is painless but does not look like any sores that I have seen pictures of. It has been there for a week.  It is flat and not raised.  Is syphilis common or rare these days?

please be patient! this forum is all volunteer which is explained in our read before posting post located under the important announcements tab on the forum.

this isn't syphilis going on. Syphilis isn't all that common in general.

since you had unprotected sex, you can follow up with proper std testing at the proper times. gonorrhea, trich and chlamydia anytime after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

since you are pregnant, avoiding unprotected sex and unprotected oral sex is important at this point.  this includes both giving and receiving oral .

In developed countries syphilis is rare. Google pictures and probably nothing like what you said.
