trichomonas scare

2 years ago I had my son 10 weeks prematurely, I went to my obgyn to have my pap after 6 weeks and they called and said I had trich. I asked what that was, and they acted like it was a no big deal std. It was a very big deal to me since I was married just had a premie and super emotional. I made them retest, everything came back negative.
I am pregnant again, and had to go to the hospital for a uti. My dad just passed and I was under a lot of stres the week before my symptoms. So they said I had a uti, and they saw what looked like trich under fluroscope?. So how can this be? I just went to the ob 2 weeks before and there was nothing. Can there be something else that looks like trich, the er said they would send it out for culture, but I am being treated for it anyway. Help.

Well I had a hooch of a friend who said the doctor thought she had trich but it was a really bad yeast infection, but the way she smelled up my house one day when her man came over I am going with trich (puke). We aren't friends anymore, but that was years ago, like 7. It wouldn't stay dormant would it? And it only showed up the two times i was super stressed, when my baby was in the nicu because he was premature, and this past week when my dad passed. I just went to the doctor and had a standard std check because I am pregnant. All came back negative. Just don't need more stress in my family if you know what i mean.

Using a towel where someone who used it before you had Trich has been known, hot tub, spa. I'm sure there are others...rare but possible.

What would the non-sexual means be? I have only saw STD related information.

Trich is often tough to diagnosis. The test is not 100% but pretty accurate. So it's possible that you did have it the 1st time and then a retest showed negative. Or possible that you don't have it but tested a false positive the 1st time.

If positive husband needs to be treated also. With Trich it is labeled a STD but can be passed from non-sexual means and can be carried for a long time with no symptoms.
