urethritis / ngu?

I had unprotected oral sex jan. 03 2008 and i went to my doctor in feb after several symptoms and he treated me for chlamydia and my symptoms disappeared in about 5 days after taking azro.. 1gram. now my penis is still a little irritated at the tip, i think its NGU or Urethritis, i noticed at the tip of my penis where the urethra is its a little puffy, nothing too noticeable but i can tell its inflammation. Any suggestions? im at college and i am planning another visit this weekend or the following..

It could be anything from not drinking enough water and/or too much caffeine or alcohol to an std.

Why are you waiting to get tested?  You should go now.

I went to the doctors a week ago and he said it was because my belly button is deep so he cleaned it out with some cream and it stopped pussing so thats a good sign, as for the tingle in the penis, he said it might be from masturbation.. but i dont think thats the case... theres no symptoms, i got treated for chlaymida a while ago and it cured everything, the only thing that remains is a ocasional tingle sensation in my urethra, and i notice that when i pee it feel kinda hot in the urethra, not so much of a burn. Any Ideas? im waiting a little longer and going to get tested for everything, i think im clear but just to make sure.

It could be the same infection, and its spread, or it might be something entirely different.

You really should get seen by a doc soon.

i just noticed this morning, my belly button is leaking a clear cloudy fluid? ,, its not too much but i dry it and then it appears a short while after.. is this an infection caused entirely unrelated to my conditions previous?

But i don't see the relevance if it clears up? Meaning if the antibiotics cured whatever i have whats the difference if i knew or not? I mean i guess its better that i do know, but i honestly think its just inflammation. I guess i'll see what my doctor says.

If you test after the antibiotics, that won't tell you what you had or didn't have.  You should test before taking any more antibiotics.

Yes, i think that will be done. He will most likely give me some antibiotics to clear it up. and then i will get tested after staying off the doxycycline. I am scheduled to fly out to Texas on the 20th of march so i will go for testing immediately after that. Thank you for the help!

If its possible, I'd wait about 2 weeks to get tested, but since you are symptomatic, you can doc to your doc about it.  It might be something your doc can diagnose by a visual exam.

Yes, i plan on stopping it tomorrow so when i go to the doctors he can see the symptoms rather then me just telling him, i made my appointment for saturday. So we will see what he says. How long should i have stopped the Doxy before getting tested? should i get tested this next week?

If you are taking at least 100 mg of doxy twice a day, that will cure chlamydia.  The 1gm of azithromycin will also cure chlamydia.

If you are going in for testing, you need to stop using the doxy, as that can cause a false negative.

Yeah, the doctor just told me i had chlaymida without any testing, just based off of symptoms.
Im also taking doxycycline for my skin which is suppressing the symptoms now, when i noticed it, i stopped taking doxycycline for about 3 days and my penis started to feel inflamated.
Im calling today to make an appointment for this weekend, thank you so much for the help.

Have you had sex since being treated for chlamydia?  (And was that an official diagnosis or just based on symptoms?)  If you have had sex, you might have it again, especially if you had sex with someone you had sex with before who might not have gotten treatment.

I think you should go back to the doc, and ask to be tested this time, especially if you weren't last time.  Have them test you for chlamydia, gonorrhea and NGU.  Make sure they look at your urine under a scope, and see if there are any white blood cells.
