what could it be? please help

Hi,
I'm panicking a bit after a recent protected exposure with an escort. Body fluids can be passed irrespective of protection. I live in UK and this escort has been very likely with many many people. After 2-3 days of protected sex with her, I had a sore throat, lack of appetite and stomach bloating going on for around 2 weeks. I also noticed a bump after 2 days but it was a single bump with pus (photo- http://tinypic.com/r/eah5ed/8). I'm taking medicines and doing home remedies since last two weeks and it is not helping. I visited my parents for Christmas and I was there for a few days with them. Now my mother has developed a fever and sore throat which is not going away. I'm not sure, how to conclude this. I also started feling chills and a low grade fever after two weeks of exposure. Since, the sore throat is present for more than 2 week,Could it be a serious disease? Please provide some pointers?

Get the photo checked out by an MD.  Could be Syphilis.  I don't know about UK but the standard protocol is to use a RTR.   But that won't work.  It takes 4 - 6 weeks after the appearance of a "bump" to show you have it.   Discuss doing a PCR test, if available.

Be well.

Has nothing to do with a STD, sounds like a cold.
