worried std

Two years ago I had sexual encounter with a very high risk prostitute in africa. I was drunk and I believe she used a condom of her own which she didnt open infront of my eyes. After a month after my exposure I developed a very stiff jaw to the point where it was hard for me to open my mouth and swollen lymphnodes under my jaw. The stiffness subside within 4 days but the lymphnodes still remain after two years. In addition three months after my exposure I got a flu and with that I developed some kind of lump inside my mouth on my gum. They feel like an additional skin over my gum. Still the lymphnode and the skin(lump)still persist after two years.should I be worried of hiv and other Std

Protected sex is not a risk for hiv but if you dont believe me then have an hiv test as would be conclusive 3 months post exposure. Hiv is not diagnosed by symptoms but by testing only.

I actually got checked by a doctor 5 weeks after the exposure and he told me that my salivary glands were swollen, which are still swollen today, but he couldnt figure out what was causing it and said it must be some flu. So sir are the flu symptoms he was referring consistent with ARS. I also had rushes on my face which I dismissed as anxiety caused and also two kilos of weight loss in the first two weeks. Please your advice is important to me as I am starting to worry that the symptoms I had after exactly one month exposure maybe hiv related including the stiffness of jaw and swollen gland

Hi, protected sex is not a risk for any std including hiv but would be a low risk for herpes and syphilis. Since all your symptoms appear upper body, it would not appear related to the genital exposure. If your not sure you used the condom test for all std's but your symptoms really dont appear std related esp the nodes swollen for 2 years. You should see a doc and get checked out about the nodes but maybe there not swollen and its your anxiety acting up.
