HPV after one encounter

Dr Hook,

I had sex with a woman who has HPV.   The kind that can result in genital warts. I wore a condom and I am circumsized.  I only had one encounter with this woman and wanted to know what are the chances of me getting HPV.  I believe I have read any std is hard to get after only one encounter.  Also,  she said she hasn't had any warts for 20 years but said her past 2 boyfriends got HPV and warts.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Doug

There is no Doctor on this forum anymore. But as they posted on here a few years ago, one sex act (especially with a condom) very rarely results in an infection. You should not worry about something you may not have or symptoms that you may never get because stress is killer. And can cause warts to appear.
