Bleeding/Discharge During Intercourse

I am a 28 year old female who over the past weekend expirenced an issue while having sex this weekend with my long term boyfriend.

The first time we had sex this weekend (which was slightly on the rougher side) some brownish, with a very small about of red discharge was on noticed immediately after sex and throughout the day.  By the next morning it was cleared up.  We had sex again about 36 hours later (this time the sex was slow and gentle until the last minute or two) and this time there was some bleeding, which stopped within an hour or two of having sex.  I thought that I had started my period as I've expierenced this before right before my period was to being, the bleed would just keep going until my period was over.  Both times this weekend my vagina was tighter than usual for some reason as well if it matters.

I should mention that I've had the Essure implant if that makes a difference.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Hi im 25 and had been expirencing the same bleeding during intercourse. After a while i also started to get pain during intercourse, i went to the doctor who gave me a cervical smear that come back abnormale. since then iv been getting a lot of stomace cramps, low back ach and irregulare bleeding also feeling hot a lot of the time.
Id recommend you go to see your doctor it could be something small and easily treated but best to be safe. iv got a hospital appointment for thursday where i will find out more about whats been happening to me, scared and worreid but feel good knowing that its getting sorted. good luck, hope all goes well for you.

Wow. I'm surprised you were able to find a doctor that would perform such an irreversible procedure on someone so young. I hope you don't change your mind at some point. Huh. To each their own though. Good times.

But not being a doctor and being a guy I can't really give much more insight on the subject. I suppose you could check with your gyno but if you're not experiencing pain or any other symptoms I would guess it's really not much to panic about. Again though, that's a guess.

Actually, I had the Essure prodecure when I was 26 years old, so I've had it for almost two years.  The reason I had it done so young was I have no desire to have children ever, I've felt that way since I was young.  It just isn't who I am, I never been the motherly type and it has never been one of my life goals.  I figured that Essure was the safest, most effective thing I could do for long term protection.

Thank you for your response, I was thinking along the same lines, but when so much can go wrong in that region without any warning you can never be too sure.

The Essure procedure is still kind of new so no real long term studies have been done on the side effects and I guess this could be one of them.

Also, if its around the time of your period it wouldn't be uncommon for you to bleed a little bit as I'm sure you know. And sometimes sex, rough or otherwise, can stir things up a little bit down there and cause some bleeding.

Why the Essure at 28? If you don't mind my asking.
