Could a birth control switch be the cause?

Should my girlfriend switch back to low hormone birth control?

After 5 years on it, she switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to Ortho Tri Cyclen in May. (She had breakthrough bleeding, no serious side effects.) When she switched, she hasn't found me attractive and is severely questioning whether we're meant to be together. There are moments where she shows she's still interested, and she describes herself as having mixed emotions. (Mood swings maybe?)

Given that we still flirt, sex is still pretty good for both of us and I can still find ways to turn her on, it's hard for me to believe she doesn't find me attractive.

Could the pill switch be to blame? Should I encourage her to go back to OTC Lo?

It would be worth your girlfriend checking in with her doctor.  At first glance, switching from a medication such as birth control, that she has been using for five years, would more than likely cause these different feelings towards you.  Anything that affects one's hormones, such as birth control meds, would be highly suspect if she suddenly has a change in outlook after the switch.  Recently, scientific study results were released that showed how women perceive and choose boyfriends markedly different after starting to use birth control meds, so switching between meds may also change perceptions, I would think.

The switch might have caused her body hormones to be thrown a little out of wack.
I would say since it's lasted 3 months, it is probably PMDD...and maybe the Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo was helping the symptoms of PMDD, but now that she has switched, the symptoms are becoming visible.
Tell her to go to her doctor, to see if it is PMDD.

I don't know. She's never had PMS symptoms with me before. Unless the pill is worsening those effects, I don't see how that's possible. (3 month PMS?) Can you detail why you think it's pms? Does anyone else agree/disagree?

That's PMS, dude.
If you think it is severe enough, she might have PMDD, pre-menstural disphoric disorder. I really think she should try Yaz. It will help with the mood swings, and if she does have PMDD, it will help with that as well.
