I began taking Korean Ginseng 2 grams a day a few months back. I am a senior and decided to try it for the possible benefits, including energy and erectile dysfunction problems. After about a month I noticed my weight went down about 10 pounds, 5%. I am 6' 5" so I can carry 225 rather well. I did not notice any change in my energy and or erectile dysfunction. But, the weight loss which may be do to the Ginseng affect on the digestion of carbohydrates and other sources of sugar production may be a benefit in my case. Okay, shared for whatever value on this forum... but another, I decided to cut back to 1 gram a day to see what happens to my weight. I gradually gained back about 5 pounds, suggesting Ginseng does in fact help me control weight, I love carbohydrates. But, I also notices a worse feeling of fatigue... thus, there may be a withdrawal when stopping Ginseng, just fyi and welcome input. I have returned to 2 grams of Ginseng now for about a week and believe today my fatigue is reduced. Yes, that is the accepted benefit of Ginseng, but in my case I think I have discovered the possible "addiction" regarding energy/fatigue... Welcome ideas. It may be I'll stay on Ginseng for the apparent benefits but if I decide to stop it I may have to deal with my physical dependence on the herb and accept increased fatigue, assumed that will wear off over time.. don't know if or how long.
