Sometimes they can't find a cause for BV like the above poster said. It's best to not where thong underwear, I do know that. The string can move from the anus to the vagina and cause an infection. It's best to always wear cotton panties.
I don't know it really is hard being a woman sometimes. Anyone could get it and I know a lot of women are battling bv. Yes men can get it too from women. it can be passed back and forth so he should be treated too. to my knowledge they don't show symptomslike we do. Good luck with your iinsurance and stick with the same doctor if it's not gone with the first treatment. if you switch you might never get to the root of the problem. You should write down everything you can about it. like symptoms, when it started and the smell of discharge etc. everything so hopefully you can get rid of it fast.
dam smh why us? does it happen to everyone? even men? & okay i need to fix my insurance first
Yea but I've always heard its still not a good idea to do. You can get bv many many different ways. Using tampons, oral sex, unprotected sex, if a guy ejaculates in you, washing with soap, fingering, your diet and more. Go get tested for it and if they give you a antibiotic you should take a probiotic or pro B with it and after you complete the antibiotics.

Good idea. Yeah cause i went to go get tested for STDs and HIV and it came out negative so i know it is not an STD. But how can someone get a BV?
but summers eve doesn't have fragrance and it good to wash your vagina with that rather than soap with fragrance. But okay ill see my doctor and see what she says
See your gynecologist to be tested for BV. It's the only way to know for sure if you have it or not. If you do have it your partner will need to be treated too or it will continue to be passed back and forth. This is not an STD. Many women can get this even if they're not sexually active.
I get Acidophilus probiotic and the Culturelle with lactobacillus from walmart. It'll cost around $27 for both. I wouldn't wash with any feminine wash it has to many chemicals and can disturb your natural flora. Bv stands for bacterial vaginosis basically means you bad bacteria in your vagina has gotten out of control and now there's too much bad bacteria and not enough good. That's what probiotics are good bacteria. My post above was copied and pasted from a previous reply of mine to another woman on here but modified a bit. So I've currently been taking and inserting probiotics for 15 days now. Still no sign of bv. I think next month I'll try inserting the Culturelle and just taking the acidophilus orally. I hope I'll beat this and not have to treatment it everyday. I haven't stacked off any bc in too scared it'll come back since I've had it for so long but glad I'm getting fantastic results.

thanks thats helpful where do you get the probiotic and pills? and i wash with summers eve. is that good enough? what does bv stand for?
Could be bv. I've had bv for years and years and years and everything I've tried doesn't get rid of it because i was never treating the root of the problem. You could try this and see if it works.I've just started inserting Acidophillus pill vaginaly every night and every morning I take a Acidophillus and Culturelle pill oral. It has been helping I have no more disgusting fishy smell or alot of discharge. I'm going to continue this for a month then I'm going to only take the probiotics orally every other day and the eventually take them once a week. Also some tips I use or do are....I wash the outside of my vagina with a mixture of lemon juice, a crushed up probiotic and water, I pull the clitoris hood back and wash that good also because it collects smegma and bacteria, I wash all my panties with vinegar and fragerance free detregent once a month and I also don't dry myself vagina with the towel after a shower or bath. I go to my room turn on my portable fan and sit on my bed in front of it and dry myself that way or you can use a blow dryer. I also won't masterbate or have sex during the time your trying to heal yourself because it can delay it. Use condoms or if you have unprotected sex be sure to take probiotics and insert a probiotic vaginaly after sex. Don't douche or use any other home remedy don't it won't cure you all the way and douching will wash out your good bacteria. If this doesn't help you go to the doctor. If they prescribe u an antibiotic please take a probiotic to replace your good bacteria because antibiotics kill all bacteria.
I hope this will help you.
