What could this be?

This might get quite long! I'm a 23 year old female and I've been sexually active for about 5 years. For the duration of that time I've been on the pill, and I've also always found sex quite painful/usually impossible due to a painful area of skin on the vaginal entrance which I can physically point to, and also due to dryness. I've been to counselling and various doctors who have suggested perhaps vaginismus/vulval vestibulitis as possible causes but as I felt I wasn't getting anywhere I went to see a new doctor.

He examined me and said that he saw a lot of green/yellow discharge inside the vagina. I've had various examinations and nobody has ever picked up on that before, and although I do get some discharge in my underwear, it is usually white or cream. I've never seen any yellow/green discharge come out so I can't understand why it is in there? He took a high vaginal swab to test for trichomoniasis (he thought this may have been dormant for years and been causing the pain all this time) and also asked me to do a chlamydia test - both of these came back negative. I'm now panicking about what is causing it!

I've been in a relationship for years and have only ever had two sexual partners so I'm at a loss as to what this could be. Could it possibly be normal mucus? I'm wondering if this is likely to be related to the pain/dryness I've experienced or whether it may be a separate problem. I hope this wasn't too hard to follow and if anyone makes it to the end, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks :)

Hi Bright, You could try vitamin B 6  for your dryness, thet say it works wonders for it, perhaps leaving you with a couple of dry days a month.
As for your yellow greenish discharge get tested, try and STD/GUM Clinnic, the staff in these clinics know best its there field, the problem is some of the big STDs can stay hidden, little buggers, if you have a regular guy get both of you tested or things will just go back and forth between you.
One last thing have you thought of trying to change you BC pills, these could be giving you your dryness.
Good Luck

I would get a more complete std panel done.  And if you have a partner right now, they should get tested.  Some stds can lie dormant for a while, but infidelity might be something to consider.  Green discharge is never normal, although slightly yellowish can be.  Have you tried using copious amounts of lube?  If that doesn't work, maybe a dermatologist would be a good thing to see, since you say it's dry skin that you think is the issue.
