It depends - not enough information here to give good advice. I believe with any sex toy as long as you probably cleanse it before and after use and it remains with one person (i.e. a vibrator, butt plug, etc.) then you should be OK.
Sometimes, depending on the toy, it will cause a person to need the extra-stimulation, like the body expects it every time you orgasm. If you're using a vibrator to masturbate, you may find that normal sexual positions don't provide the stimulation you've gotten used to. The same for him. You may want to wait till after (or maybe you're already at this point) or use them sparingly or for special occasions until you're both comfortable with being satisfied the "old fashioned" way (I'm not just talking about the missionary position either :) )
