penis irritation

a couple weeks ago I made the foolish mistake of masterbating in the shower using a scented body wash.  Talk about painful!  The pain (which is concentrated at the tip of the penis) subsided that night and I thought nothing of it.  4 days later, while in a hurry, I went to bathroom to quickly urinate and pushed my urine stream a little harder to make haste.  There was a quick, sudden pain -- similar to the shower incident --  with that action, but it faded.  I materbated that night and ejaculated in a piece of clothing (as I often do without side affects), and had no pain. The next day, the pain came back, so bad at first I had trouble sleeping, but it faded and has been on and off ever since.  Seems when I push my urine a little, that creates a twinge. Tip of my penis seems sensitive as well.

How long can I expect this irritation to persist?

You should go to the doctor.  I don't know how accurate the store bought tests are, so it's possible you have a UTI anyway.  If it's not a UTI, you'll need a doctor anyway to figure out what it is.  I would leave off masturbating for a while to avoid any more irritation, which might make things worse.

I tested myself with a couple store-bought UTI tests...nitrates, leukecytes...all negative.
