Dark brown freckle..could it be cancerous?

On my breast, I found a new dark brown freckle that is not circular on my nipple.  About 3 inches from that is a two-toned mole I've had for about 10 years, but it has recently gotten larger.  Could these BOTH be cancerous? In other words, can cancerous moles produce others near the original?  Also, these areas of my body are never exposed to the sun, so is it even possible to develop melanoma?  Finally, I recently had blood work done and everything looked great, so does that mean there is no possibility of having melanoma or does melanoma have nothing to do with blood tests?

By the way, I went to my GP who told me yes I should get a dermatologist to check them out, but I haven't gotten a call yet for the referral appointment.  (This was 3 weeks ago).

What do you all think?

Melanoma has nothing to do with the blood test. And YES melanoma can occur even on the skin that never get exposed to the sun. And YES that cancerous moles grows in size BUT not produce another cancerous moles. And grows in size doesn't necessary mean that it is cancerous. I suggest you to see a dermatologist for biopsy. The symptoms you mentioned wouldn't worry me. Hope for the best good luck

1. Melanoma is not picked up by blood test.

2. If you GP has recommended you see a dermatologist then you definitely should. Is there anyway you can get in a bit quicker.

3. Moles on the nipple can look a little different than on other skin. I have a couple and one turned up after/during pregnancy and I notice it changes colour during pregnancy. moles on your breast could get larger if your breasts are growing.

Try not to worry while waiting for your appointment but do follow through. Obviously I haven't seen your moles while your GP has.

Take care.
