I had a bad cold and was waking every 20 mins because I couldn't breathe and my mouth was so dry from breathing through it all night. The one night I also had back pain so I caved in and took Aleve. That night I slept through despite my cold! So the next night, even though I didn't have any pain, I took Aleve again and had a great sleep. I did this for a week despite not having pain and continued having a good sleep. Then I stopped 2 nights in a row and tossed and turned all night. So, back to taking Aleve, and back to good nights sleep. For me, it's not from relieving pain because there is not pain. I too am curious why it helps me sleep so well.
I noticed the same better sleep by taking Aleve before bed....

Thank you for responding.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
Aleve may not directly induce sleep. It could alleviate pain symptoms and hence may promote sleep.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted. Long term use is however not recommended as it increases the risk of stroke.
