Yes, it definitely could be related to birth control because it's hormones that prevent ovulation. If you haven't been using this particular form of birth control long, you may only need some more time to adjust to it. If you've used it for several months, it wouldn't hurt to bring these symptoms up with your doctor.

You don't mention your age, but it sounds like the beginnings of perimenopause. That's when our female hormones start going whacko, and one symptom is night sweats and hot flashes. They usually start in the chest area. It's entirely normal unless your very young - like under 30 - says the old bat of 45. :-)
Since your symptoms are mild, try some black cohosh capsules. They're available in any store that carries vitamins and herbals. My sister told me about it and it works surprisingly well for all but the worst drenching hot flashes.
