Repetitive hypnic jerk followed by rectal spasms

Hello, and thanks for your time in reading my issue.

Whenever I am just about to fell asleep I have a spasm on my hand or feet and right after I have rectal spasms. It doesn't let me sleep at all.

The problem started right after my visit to my Gastroenterologist for checking my hemorrhoidsfor the first time. After that routine check, my life has become a nightmare. Because I cannot sleep since then. I remember i was so much in pain when he put his finger in. And also it started bleeding.

Can this be a neurological issue at the pelvic floor.  

Is it possible that a nerve down there might got damaged, so when the signal is send for me to sleep, it cannot pass through that damaged or trapped nerve and comes back as a spasm and thus right after I have the rectal spasm. Does this make any sense?

Can an MRI show if there is a damaged nerve at the pelvic floor?

Did anyone faced any similar situation?

Please, this is a real living nightmare. Any advice will be highly appreciated.
