Husband will NOT wake up.

Hi there.

I am currently having a HUGE issue with my husband NOT waking up. We have a 2 year old daughter and I work weekdays and he works weekends so he watches her during the week.

My issue is there have been MULTIPLE occasions where he does NOT get up. I have blown up his phone, called him dozens of times. He turns it off in his sleep AND the baby monitor. I have had to LEAVE work several times, come home and my daughter is SCREAMING in her crib, starving, wet, alone, and WAKE HIM UP.

I don't know what to do. I'm on the brink of losing my job. I need help.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

It could just be that he is tired and need more sleep. Just give him more time to sleep/rest. If the symptoms still do not resolve, then he will have to get assessed for sleep disorders. Certain sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea can cause disturbed sleep and hence the need to sleep more. And others like narcolepsy can cause excessive sleepiness per say.

If it persists or is troublesome consult your doctor for assessment.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

I agree with allmymarbles, it is possible he has a sleep apnoea condition that is stopping him getting restorative sleep. A doctor should be able to help if your husband is willing to accept that there is an issue.

I would have a doctor give him a thorough examination. Assuming he gets sufficient sleep, his not being able to stay awake may suggest an illness.
