Hi

Most patients on CPAP require some time to adjust to the machine. The time required for adjustment is variable, ranging from a few days to a few weeks to may be a few months! Most important is that you should not give up.

Since you are facing problems related to a good fit exist, you can try out some other brand/model. Cognitive behavioral therapy at the beginning of usage of the machine also increases compliance.

If you are not facing any nasal congestions or rhinitis and are able to sleep properly, then you should be able to adjust to some new brand also in a few days time. So perhaps you should try another with a proper fir for you as the use of bandage to keep it in place may cause difficulty in compliance.

However, if there is no relief, you should consult your physician.

Take care.

Hello, Jimgreg.

Yes, I have had the same problem.  The masks were cutting my nose and I needed to put bandaids on it.  I have a mask now called Respro Quattro Elite.  It has a knob at the top of the mask that adjusts the pressure on the forehead and nose.  It has really helped. I still wake up with a little redness but it's gone by the time I'm out of the shower.  Also, there's another sleep apnea forum that's very helpful with these types of issues.  Try www.apneasupport.org.  There are hundreds of fellow apnea sufferers on the site with helpful advice.  Let me know if you like the site.  Cheers and good luck.
