feeling tired during the day.

Hello, every day I feel sleepy as if I don't get enough sleep. For along time now I have had these dark circles under my eyes. I think some how or another I wake myself up during my sleep and I don't know about it. I have been told by past girlfriends that I snore but I don't realize it. I think that I might have apnea but I am not sure. I have gain some weight but that might have to do with no exercise. My job just consists of sitting around and doing nothing working in the security industry. I am 5'11 and 235lbs. I have noticed that in the past when I was exercising and around 200lbs I slept a little better. Do you have any outlook on this or do you have any questions for me.

Exercise is supposed to help achieve  better quality sleep. Excess weight can cause sleep apnea, but doesn't in everyone. In some, sleep apnea causes weight gain because of it's effect on appetite hormones and the stress hormones' effect on metabolism. Being a snorer does increase the likelihood of having sleep apnea, though many snorers don't. And the flip side of that - one can have apnea and not snore. And be young and fit. Go figure.

Hopefully your doctor will also rule out any other medical causes of your daytime sleepiness. But with that symptom and being a snorer, I would want a sleep study, as the health consequences of untreated sleep apnea can be serious, yet are entirely preventable.

Hello,

That you are very right,a normal human should take eight hours of sleep otherwise you may land up with stress syndrome, hypertension etc.
apnea while sleeping may be due to any airway obstruction or stress.
Its very important for you to cut down your fat because most of the problems are because of that only.
exercise is a must, everyday. It's necessary to get rid of all the stress hormones running through your body.Do meditation,go for brisk long walks. You may try 5-HTP at night time for good sleep. Start with 50 mg and then you might try 100 mg. It's an over the counter natural precursor to serotonin (the feel good hormone). For your dark circles you can massage with almond oil or aloe cream around your eyes at bed time.Hope it helps.Regards.
