Stopped Smoking

I smoked from the age of 16 to the age of 27, quit for a year, picked up at 28 until I was 30, then started again 3 months ago.  (I am now 31 1/2)  I have now quit for the last week and plan (hope) to never start again.  I know that the benefits will be worth it as I've quit for long periods of time before.  I have put on about 15 lbs (not related to smoking, more from over eating due to stress).  I have for the last week had a throbbing pain in my solar plexus (right in the centre of the chest on the little bone at the bottom), a feeling of a tight chest, but my airflow is fine.  I am asthmatic but it is well under control.  I am coughing up mucus and am fairly stuffed up, all signs that my body is cleaing out the crap in my system.  My only concern is the pain in my solar plexus.  I have also started exercising again and being more active.  Could the pain in the solar plexus related to the weight-gain, exercise, coughing and not smoking?  I have also had a LOT of acid reflux lately and am under a HUGE amount of stress...I wonder if I have an ulcer too?  Anyhow, any feedback would be great!

I am not positive but I am sure the pain could be from all of that, you have a lot going on. I would wait until the coughing eases up and take some antacid and see if it improves any. Congratulations on quitting, I quit yesterday myself and so far so good. This is my second time quitting also and I hope I don't start back up.  Best of luck to you.

Best of luck with quitting smoking!  Each time I used some medication to quit, but the last time I did it cold turkey, same as this time and I find it easier.  Thanks for your feedback!

YES, acid reflux after quitting  and it was Horrible. Little bit of baking soda in water helped bunches and it will eventually go away unless you gain more weight like I have. lol I have been off for almost 6 months cold turkey and am now ready to tackle a little of that weight gain. Im giving up soda. LOL Congratulations and hang in there.
