Thank you to both of you. I know it might have sounded foolish to ask that and that I should be happy I'm not coughing...I just started getting concerned after a while, afraid I may have damaged my lungs so much they can't heal. Glad to know that it is not unusual to not cough.
I have not had any sinus infections but I've noticed my sinuses have been stopped up and draining alot and that is a little unusual for me.
I can breath better, not marathon quality yet..but I will get there! I have to say for me..so far the most amazing change is my taste buds. I really NEVER had any idea that my smoking ever effected my taste buds like they did. Foods actually taste different. My husband is amazed by how many foods I used to hate that I actually like now. He has never smoked so he does not understand my excitement when I realize all these changes taking place. I feel like I am taking my life back from a bully that kept me hostage for 10 years!
I didn't cough either though I did have a few sinus infections. I quit in October, the beginning of winter so it could have been that too.
Congrats on your quit and like addict63 said, prepare yourself for some great benefits. My personal favorite was being able to simply walk fast without gulping for air!
Good luck to you and if you need support, we are here for you : )
Hi bamagirl, Congratulations on quitting and your month of clean time!! When I quit I don't remember any coughing at all. My coughing stopped in fact. I remember all my senses returning and I could taste and smell again. I also found I had enough wind to start a running program, and within a year I was running 10k races and breaking 50 minutes. These are the wonderful promises of stopping smoking. One of the last things we were told in our smoking cessation class was "we're all one puff away from a pack a day". Keep on keeping on bama!!!
