As someone who has had their fair share of demons, the support I received from this board as well as family and friends are what gave me the strength to stay quit.
Just remember that whatever you are feeling will soon dissipate and before you know it, you will have taken back your life : ) Nothing better than that!
Thank you kathyjo. I am so grateful for the support I have gotten from people who have "walked in my shoes." I have followed your many encouraging posts over the past months and years, and you are terrific for that. Yes, it has helped me knowing that when doubt and worry set in, there is a place to turn to for understanding and encouragement. THANK YOU.
Hey, I know that feeling having used Chantix for my quit too. I thought that once I stopped taking the pill that all cravings would have gone. I did go through physical w/d and after they were one, the time to work on my emotional addiction had come.
What I can tell you is that you might feel like that for a while but you need to keep yourself busy. Walk, exercise, keep active and before you know it, the crave will have passed. Deal with each urge as it comes and don't allow yourself to be overwhelmed by your quit. Breathe deep, take a walk and try reading some articles at whyquit.com. Before you know it, you will get stronger and more able to handle those urges.
Ultimately, you are in charge of your life and to allow a cigarette to bully you around, well it's just not possible....right?
You can do it...stay strong and believe in yourself. Keep reminding yourself why you quit and how you are and will benefit and you will stay quit.
Good luck!
Dont do it!!! i quit for three years and I started back up again. I still smoke now and I am ashamed of myself. You are doing so well. Stay strong and the craving with go away. They become less and less as the months go on.
