could it possibly be

ive been a smoker for 25 years.lately ive been feeling unwell everyday.soar throat,weak,pain in hands and feet,chest pains,nervous.and i lost 40 lbs in 8 mth.could i possibly have cancer in my body from smoking for so long?i had a chest exray in may but came back fine.not sure what to say to my doc or check.she does know i smoke.i am worried that i do have cancer and it just won`t be found in time.any suggestions would be great.thank you.

thank you reading and responding.yes i will log into that article.i so its not good but i guess sometimes with my depression.i don`t care what happens to me.but im back on my meds and i so do care.thank you

well, it sounds as if you need to quit, for your health as well as your sense of well being.

I remember getting short of breath but instead of quitting, I would smoke more because I was stressing!
Everything you describe could very well be smoke related but it could be numerous other things too.
Make a doctor appt. and get everything checked out. It could help put your mind at ease though, now that you are scared, you might like to take advantage and quit.
In any case, log onto whyquit.com and read the articles under "Education." This has helped me as well as many others who have quit.
