Withdrawals?

Hello,  I am 31 years old, & I smoked for 17 years, and i quit cold turkey yesterday.  I was told Friday I have chronic pneumonia & chronic bronchitis. Today I had a hard time, and so I put a patch on.  I am sick to my stomach, I am having a very hard time taking a deep breath still, and I am shaky, and feel horrible.  I am on strong anti-biotics for the pneumonia and steroids for the inflamation.  I took the patch off about an hour ago but still feel very dizzy, nauseated, and my head is pounding.  Is this normal?  Please help, I am not sure if tis is due to the pneumonia ad bronchitis or quitting.

I had pneumonia at the age of 12 years old. I think it sounds more like pneumonia than quitting smoking which I have done and did not feel dizzy or other symptoms you mention. Pneumonia is hell.

I have worn a patch in the past then taken it off without symptoms.

Not sure I have been much help but have tried, best wishes, Nicky.

sounds like it could be due to any of those things....cold turkey for 3 days/72 hours is bad and can cause shakes, sweats, light headed feeling, headache...the list goes on and on. The chronics can cause weakness and any of the above feelings so I would have to say what you are experiencing is quite normal. The patch could be irritating you, maybe an allergy? Also, the medicine, in particular steroids is probably adding to it. You will feel better soon but if it continues, go back to your doctor.
As for quitting, good luck and stay strong. If your resolve weakens, try reading the articles at whyquit.com.
