arent you ment to start coughing your lungs out when u stop smoking?

before i stopped smoking i was coughing alot through the day,now i breath eazier,cough a few times through the day,its a dry cough,when do your lung start cleaning the **** out,arent you ment to start coughing your lungs out when u stop smoking?i have not smoked in a month

its 51 smoke free days for me. but ive been coughing  here and there everything  will get better sunday will be 2months forme.

I hear it happens to most folk that quit but it didn't happen to me. I smoked for 38 years and never had a cigg. cough. It would probably just kill me anyway with cancer. I've been off smokes for 3 months with the help of chantix. all the best

Same thing happened to me but it took about 3 months before my cough was loose and productive! I smoked for 38 years so maybe thats why? It will happen, trust me : )
