It helps to remember why it is you wanted to quit in the first place and if you need something to do with your hands/mouth, try a straw, toothpick or lolipop. If you can get near your computer when an urge hits, log onto whyquit.com and read some of the stories there. After 4 months, I realize that what I "missed" about smoking was NOTHING : )
Congratulations on 11 days Rosa! Don't ever smoke another one : )

Hi Rosa.....congratulations on your quit!!   Your post was a few days ago and I hope by now you're feeling better.   I had the exact same reaction when I quit too.  Instead of breathing better, my breathing got worse which turned into a panic attack.  I think our bodies are not used to all the oxygen we start receiving once we quit smoking.  I remember I felt so HYPER too, cleaned things around the house that hadn't been cleaned for 10yrs like the window tracks, lol.  It took about a week for the breathing to even out.  My only advice on how to deal with the w/ds is to keep moving.  If you don't already walk, now is a good time to start.....it really helps with the restless feeling.

Good luck to you.........keep posting and let us know how your doing, Ok?

Hi Rosa20 and congratulations on your quit! If I am interpreting correctly you have not been a smoker for long so you have that working in your favor. Most of us on this forum have been smoking for decades.
I have been a part of this forum for nearly 4 month and I have yet to see a medical doctor post here, so what advice we can give is more or less through our own experiences. I don't know exactly what you mean by saying you are having trouble breathing. Is this all of the time or does it just happen at certain times? Could it be that you are having anxiety or perhaps a panic attack? How long does it last?
I think that it would be wise for you to go to the doctors and get checked out especially since you are planning on having a baby. You need to be healthy : )
