stopping and starting.

Since last oct. I have stopped and strated smoking about 3 times. Before that and chantix I could never stop but have stopped for almost 3 moths and the other times for a little less. When, I started smoking again, it was only for about a week. I seem to start when I get real upset. I know this isn't good but it's alot better than before and I will keep on and get it right. anyone else had this problem?

Good for you and stay positive and never look back. It is so hard but it is do-able because I did it : )
The thing that helped me most was to post to this forum and the constant support I received when I did : )
Hang in there and know that there are others out there who want you to quit and will try to help you through it......keep it up!
Congrats : )

I have also associated smoking as a way to deal with stress & anxiety. In retrospect, rather then it helping, I now know it is learned behavior. Contrary to what we believe, it only adds to it!
What helped me was support. From my family, friends and whyquit.com
Read all of the articles that you can, especially the ones that deal with ehat you are feeling at the moment, and I can almost guarantee the next time will be the last : )

Make sure that you keep away from situations where you are tempted.....Ask all of your family and friends to support you on a daily basis.
Post here often, especially when you get an urge. We need to help each other through the rough times.........were all in this together!
You know you are capable so just make sure you don't give.
Good luck and keep up the dialogue : )
