update

Hi everyone - still early days for me but I'm happy to say that I have quit for 1 day and 16 hours.  I went out with friends last night for drinks and was not tempted at all to have a smoke - luckily they were all non-smokers so it was easy!  I have another challenge this evening - going out with friends that ARE smokers.......  Fingers crossed, I should be fine again and not succumb to the 'cancer stick'! :-)

I have been quit for 1 Day, 16 hours, 45 minutes and 16 seconds (1 days). I have saved $23.76 by not smoking 33 cigarettes. I have saved 2 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 30/03/2009 1:53 AM

I want to congratulate you on starting your new adventure in life. I love the idea of getting teeth cleaned. I did that, well, I was due anyway. Just worked out.

I am a non smoker for 2 1/2 mos. I read an article on whyquit (?) that states one would have to gain 75 pounds before the their health would be effected the way cig. would effect it. I don't know if I'm saying this correctly or if It can be understood for that matter. LOL. I am trying to keep the focus on being a non smoker right now. The weight issue will come later if needed.

You are doing great! There is great, solid support here.

Good job, Angelina!  You have a great attitude.  So glad to hear your test came out so well.  Another thing you might want to do for yourself is get your teeth cleaned.  All shiny and pretty.

Look at you!  You're inspiring people already!

So proud of you!

Thanks Jade and Kathyjo!  I did it - No smoking around my smoking friends!  One even went as far as saying that I am an inspiration to them and if I can do it so can they!  Who knows?  She may decide to stop as well.
So how did I manage to get through the night?  I ate - infact I ate ALOT! :-) Hmmm, need to keep a check on food consumption but I would rather gain a few pounds rather than start smoking again.
I also had a heart stress today and results were great!   I'm going back again in 6 months to do the test again - I'm so motivated now to continue improving my results.
Have a GREAT day and thank you again for your support!  xxx
