Anyone have any similar situation?

My mom had a massive hemorrhagic stroke 20 days ago.  It ended up that she had 3 aneurysims and the doctor was able to coil them and then had to go back in and remove some of the bone flap for swelling.  We are now almost three weeks in and she has continued to be in a coma.  The doctors had a talk with us and said that she will likely not survive and if she does that the stroke has affected the part of the brain for memory and motor skills and she would never be able to have a meanigful life.  We are at a cross road and do not now how to proceed from here.  There seems to be lots of stories of people beating the odds but I need to hear some first hand and see if there is any situation similar to ours.  This is the worst situation to be in and we keep praying but have seen no improvement.  Any suggestions would be of help.

I have been a nurse in a nursing home for 17 years. When our patients are very ill as your mother is, they are, of course, sent to the hospital. So, I cant say either way that I've seen the type of "miracle" you are looking for. I can tell you I've seen alot of people pull thru against the odds. The best advice I think I can give you is to look at this from your mother's point. What would she want you to do?   If you are not exactly sure what your mother would want, then what would you want your kids to do if this way you?  If you make decisions based on what you believe is best for your mother, then the decision wll not be a wrong one.

I pray for you as we are going through this with my dad. They have not told us  that there was nothing else they can do, however I feel your pain. Please pray pray and pray.
